Giant Food Alerts Customers to Product Recall by General Mills
Alert follows General Mills Recall on Totino's Party Pizza's LANDOVER, Md., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Giant Food, following a product recall by General Mills, announced it has removed from its shelves all General Mills 10 oz. Totino's Party Pizza's - Pizza Combo and Pizza Pepperoni because of possible Escherichia coli 0157:H7 bacteria (e.coli) contamination. General Mills announced the recall today.
The products manufactured by General Mills and carried by Giant Food and subject to the recall are as follows: Totino's Party Pizza's - Pizza Combo 10.7 oz

E. coli causes a diarrhea illness often with bloody stools. Although most healthy adults can recover completely within a week, some people can develop a form of kidney failure called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). HUS is most likely to occur in young children and the elderly. The condition can lead to serious kidney damage and even death.
