Update: Tata Companies Unite to Support First Book and Distribute 65,000 New Books to Children in Need

2nd graders at Dodge Park Elementary School to receive first donation at suburban Washington celebration event

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- First Book and The Tata Group North America representatives gathered today at Eight O'Clock Coffee(R) in Landover, MD, to kick off the distribution of 65,000 new books to children in need nationwide. Second grade students from Dodge Park Elementary School were the first students to receive brand-new books as a result of the support of The Tata Group North America, one of the world's most trusted corporate brands, and its companies. The students participated in reading circles with Tata Company representatives to celebrate First Book's mission to provide new books to disadvantaged children.

Together with the Tata Group representatives, Prince George's County Council members from District 5, Andrea Harrison, Deputy Chief of Staff & Policy Director, and Sharon Howard, Education/Community Liaison distributed and read books to the Dodge Park Elementary students. The Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development was represented by David Lewis.
