Dialight BLP Receives Major New Order for Utility Service Control Switch

Dialight BLP reports that Elster Electricity, Raleigh, N.C., has placed a
new order for 200,000 of its PowerPulse(TM) 200-amp disconnect/reconnect load
switch for use in their REX2(R) smart electric meters.

Elster selected the PowerPulse 200-amp switch because of its robust
design and proven field experience. The PowerPulse switch design allows for
over 50,000 mechanical operations and places the switch fully in an open or
closed state. Elster has shipped over 150,000 AMI meters with full service
control switches to customers who are actively operating the function. The
service control feature gives utilities the ability to remotely disconnect
and reconnect electric service to consumers, also enabling tokenless
prepayment and demand-limiting capability.
