SAO LUIS, Brazil, March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Equatorial Energia S.A. (Bovespa: EQTL11) announces its results for the fourth quarter (4Q07) and full year of 2007. Equatorial is a holding company with investments in Light S.A. and a 65.2% interest in CEMAR - Companhia Energetica do Estado do Maranhao, the electricity distributor for the entire state of Maranhao. As of February 12, 2008, Equatorial retained 25% of Rio Minas Energia (RME), which in turn maintains a 52.2% interest in Light, which generates, distributes and sells electricity in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The financial and operating information contained herein is presented in consolidated figures, pursuant to the Brazilian Corporate Law, based on revised financial information. Non-financial information relating to CEMAR, Equatorial Energia, and the PLPT (Programa Luz para Todos -- Light for All Program) were not reviewed by the independent auditors.
