PEMCO Insurance Organizes Roadside Chainsaw Woodcarving Competition to Replace a Beloved Federal Way Icon

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., March 17 /PRNewswire/ --
WHO: PEMCO Insurance, Dr. Tom Payne of Federal Way and George Kenny
School of Chainsaw Carving.

WHAT: Woodchips will fly as a team of chainsaw woodcarvers competes to
replace a life-size statue of Bigfoot stolen last year from the
office of a Federal Way chiropractor.

The eight-foot tall statue of the fabled beast marked the
entrance to Dr. Tom Payne's chiropractic clinic for years before
it disappeared in January 2007. Authorities later recovered the
carving, but not before thieves cut off its feet and damaged its
face.

Now PEMCO Insurance is teaming up with the George Kenny School
of Chainsaw Carving to help Dr. Payne replace the local icon.

The public is invited to stop by to help Dr. Payne choose the
replacement from three statues carved during the event. There
will be giveaways for kids, photo opportunities with a Bigfoot
mascot, and everyone who votes will be eligible for prizes.

WHEN: March 29 & 30, 2008
Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Village Chiropractic
1411 SW Dash Point Road
Federal Way, WA 98023

ABOUT: This event is an extension of PEMCO's "We're A Lot Like You.
A Little Different." ad campaign featuring an array of
recognizable Northwest types. Appropriately, profile number 16
is the "Roadside Chainsaw Woodcarver." The campaign aims to make
us laugh and connect our communities.
