2009 Infiniti FX Debuts at New York International Auto Show

- Second Generation of Infiniti's Performance Luxury Crossover Goes On Sale in North America in June -

NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Infiniti today previewed the all-new 2009 Infiniti FX performance luxury crossover at the New York International Auto Show, including the world debut of the new Infiniti FX35. The 2009 Infiniti FX will be offered in three models when it goes on sale at Infiniti dealers in the United States and Canada beginning in June 2008.

The new second-generation Infiniti FX35 is available with a revised 303- horsepower 3.5-liter V6 in both all-wheel and rear-wheel drive configurations, while the all-new Infiniti FX50 model is offered with standard all-wheel drive, a new 390-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine and 21-inch wheels and tires. The Infiniti FX50 was shown for the first time ever at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. All models come equipped with a new, standard 7-speed automatic transmission.

Along with its revised exterior and interior styling, the new Infiniti FX also features a number of advanced safety and convenience technologies -- including Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA), Distance Control Assist (DCA), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Around View Monitor and a real-time traffic navigation system.

The 2009 Infiniti FX's trademark performance characteristics are enhanced with a refined 4-wheel independent suspension and large 4-wheel disc brakes with available opposed-piston brake calipers and 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. An available Sport Package (FX50) includes a Continuous Damping Control (CDC) suspension and Rear Active Steer.
