NYMEX Sets Total COMEX Metals Volume Record, Gold Daily Volume Record on CME Globex(R)

NEW YORK, March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., a subsidiary of NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:NMX), announced that it set a daily volume record for COMEX metals futures and options contracts across all venues and a gold futures daily volume record on CME Globex yesterday.

Total COMEX futures and options contracts on all venues reached 477,426, exceeding the 466,397 contracts traded on January 22.

Gold futures contracts traded on CME Globex reached 293,615 contracts, surpassing the 244,615 contracts traded on November 27, 2007.

NYMEX launched its physically settled futures contracts for trading on CME Globex during regular open outcry trading hours on September 5, 2006, following its initial offering of financially settled, standard-sized and NYMEX miNY energy futures contracts for trading on CME Globex on June 12, 2006. On December 4, 2006, NYMEX introduced full-sized and COMEX miNY metals futures contracts for side by side trading. Options trading launched on CME Globex on June 25.
