"The Great Vectra 3D" $125,000 Giveaway was held from January 3 to March 31, 2008 as part of Summit VetPharm's introductory sales incentive program for Vectra 3D, a new broad-spectrum topical that effectively protects dogs against three vectors -- fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. All four winners of the contest will be flown to New York City in May 2008 for an all-expense-paid awards ceremony weekend.

Dr. Hartman graduated from Colorado State Veterinary College in 1973. He is celebrating his 30th year of ownership of his Upper Union Street practice in Schenectady, NY. As a solo practitioner, Dr. Hartman provides services for companion and small animals as well as avians and exotics species.

"We are always looking to update our clinic with the most modern equipment so I felt very fortunate to be the recipient of such a useful prize," said Dr. Hartman. "Our clinic will definitely benefit from this new medical equipment and be able to better serve all our patients."

In addition to servicing his regular patients, Dr. Hartman's clinic works closely with Homeward Bound, a not for profit organization that rescues dogs that have been turned over to shelters. Homeward Bound dogs live in a foster home with a Homeward Bound volunteer until they go to their forever homes. The organization has rescued stray animals from all over the country including many dogs from Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Hartman performs up to 8 surgeries per day on Homeward Bound dogs.
