Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Joins 15,000 Sikhs and Wears Turban Today, Sunday April 6, During Baisakhi Celebration

City of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to don turban this Sunday, April 6, at the Press Conference during the Sikh Celebration of Baisakhi. Over 15,000 will attend the Los Angeles Sikh Baisakh

The press conference will include remarks by:

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; Mayor of Amritsar, India Shwait Malik; California State Board of Equalization Chair Judy Chu; California State Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas; California State Assembly Member Mike Eng; Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard C. Parks; and other local and national Sikh dignitaries.

The event will finish with a festive and colorful parade through the heart of downtown Los Angeles, beginning soon after the press release finishes - approximately 2:30 pm.
