Olympic decision makers called upon to invite the Dalai Lama to carry the torch

NEW YORK, April 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The website HumanitarianDream.com has launched an online call to action encouraging key decision makers to invite the Dalai Lama to carry the torch as a symbol of peace and unity during the Olympic truce.

Steve Varon, in service of HumanitarianDream.com, envisioned the Dalai Lama carrying the torch in 2005. Soon after, he met with the Dalai Lama and shared this vision. The Dalai Lama greeted the concept positively and Varon has been working since that day to make this dream a reality.

"With controversy and strife surrounding the Beijing Olympic Torch Relay over the past few months, this proposal is the first publicly announced solution to the dilemma.
