Company-wide energy and resource conservation efforts lead casino entertainment industry's commitment to environmental sustainability LAS VEGAS, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Harrah's Entertainment celebrates Earth Day with company-wide efforts to protect the environment and preserve natural resources. Following on the heels of the company joining U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Leaders, Harrah's celebrates the company's commitment to environmental sustainability.

From coast-to-coast properties in the Harrah's Entertainment portfolio are committed to environmental sustainability. In the past four years, 74 "green" projects at Harrah's casino properties across the U.S. have substantially reduced energy usage while cutting annual resource expenditures by over $10 million. Each year, the programs Harrah's has already implemented are saving 155.7 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, the equivalent 164,443 barrels of oil.
