Philadelphia join Americans across the U.S.

WHAT: Independence Blue Cross (IBC) will host Philadelphia's first
National Walk @ Lunch Day(SM), encouraging Philadelphians to take
a brisk walk during lunch and demonstrating how easy it is to fit
regular exercise into a normal work day and busy lifestyle.
Similar walks will take place across the country in a national
program sponsored by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Mayor
Nutter and thousands of walkers will commemorate this day as the
City's inaugural participation in National Walk @ Lunch Day.
WHEN: Wed., April 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Mayoral proclamation at
12 noon)
WHERE: Philadelphia's City Hall - Dilworth Plaza
WHY: IBC is committed to promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles, and
is sponsoring the program to help members stay well and to show
that walking during lunchtime is exercise that can fit into a busy
day, with numerous health benefits.
Members of the media are invited to participate as walkers in this first-ever
event at City Hall.
