Stater Bros. Charities Donates $50,000 to SafeHouse of the Desert - a Service Expansion of Operation SafeHouse in Riverside
To help Homeless, Runaway and other At-Risk Children who need to find a Safe Place SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Stater Bros. Charities, the newly established philanthropic arm of Stater Bros. Markets, presented a check in the amount of $50,000 to SafeHouse of the Desert, the Coachella Valley Chapter of Operation SafeHouse, which has been located in Riverside for 18 years. The check presentation took place at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Blue Ribbon Stater Bros. Supermarket in Cathedral City.

This donation is part of the net proceeds from the inaugural Stater Bros. Charities' Heroes with Hearts Golf Challenge with Dave Stockton. Four other organizations will also benefit from the first fundraising event for Stater Bros. Charities: Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of the Inland Empire, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, The Unforgettables Foundation and the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Scholarship Fund.
