The California State PTA's 109th Annual Convention Begins Thursday, May 1
LONG BEACH, Calif., April 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The California State PTA will hold its annual convention in Long Beach, CA, May 1 through May 4. Convention is attended by California PTA leaders and members. This is the annual meeting for the state's largest children's advocacy organization, with more than 1 million volunteer members statewide.
Convention will kick-off at 3:15 on Thursday, May 1. Speakers will include Pam Brady, California State PTA President; Jan Domene, National PTA President and Jack O'Connell, California State Superintendent of Education; and David Long, Secretary of Education. In addition, Craig Scott and Erin Gruwell will be the featured keynotes. Craig is the younger brother of Rachel Scott, who lost her life in the Columbine tragedy; he will speak about inspiration, courage and kindness. Erin Gruwell, who inspired the Paramount feature film Freedom Writers, is an educator and catalyst for social change.
