Secord Agency Includes PEMCO Among Its Flagship Offerings

SEATTLE, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- This month Secord Agency, a recently launched independent insurance agency, teamed with Seattle-based PEMCO Insurance, a 59-year-old company known for its top-rated customer service.

Located at 8339 15th Ave. N.W. in Seattle's Crown Hill neighborhood, Secord Agency offers family coverage with home, auto, watercraft, RV, and life insurance as well as commercial insurance, including coverage for small business owners, subcontractors, and larger businesses.

The decision to sell PEMCO came easily to agency principal Shane Secord. "It was important to me to represent a truly local company," he said. Shane became acquainted with PEMCO and its customer service ethic when he was working as an agent with a national insurer. "I was always impressed at how responsive and cooperative PEMCO was when I worked with them on a claim," he said. "I appreciated how PEMCO consistently followed through and took care of people."

In the past four "Best Brands" surveys conducted by GMA Research, consumers named PEMCO the best insurance company overall (tying for first in 2005). The surveys were conducted independently in 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2007.

Insurance is a second career for Shane. He spent 20 years as a sales representative for an industrial manufacturer and ran a machine shop that subcontracted with the aerospace industry. "I decided I wanted to work directly helping people," Shane said. Growing up, he had seen firsthand the importance of having good insurance coverage when his mother was disabled after being hit by an underinsured driver. "Fortunately, my family had the wisdom to carry adequate insurance limits. Now, I help make sure other families are protected, too."

Joining him is fellow agent Devin Engelmann, who shares Shane's customer service philosophy. Devin brings experience in retail management and focuses on personal lines insurance. Both are available to help customers Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays by appointment.

Being an active part of the Crown Hill community is important to Shane, and he's already working with the Crown Hill Business Association.
