Pelosi Statement on Reports Medically Unfit Troops Deployed to Iraq

WASHINGTON, May 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today in reaction to news reports (http://www.usatoday.com/news/military/2008-05-07-nondeploy_N.htm) that troops were deployed to Iraq who were medically unfit for combat:

"News reports that troops determined by the Department of Defense to be medically unfit for combat have been deployed to Iraq are additional reminders of the unacceptable strain the war in Iraq is continuing to have on the readiness of our military and our national security.
