Pellicano Verdicts Make Way for Civil Cases: Kabateck Brown Kellner

LOS ANGELES, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Statement by attorney Brian S. Kabateck, who is the court-appointed lead counsel for the civil litigation arising from Anthony Pellicano's activities:

"The Pellicano saga is far from over. While there is satisfaction in seeing him found guilty for his crimes, we look forward to the civil process helping find justice for his victims and punishment for those who aided Pellicano's conspiracy but escaped prosecution in the criminal courts.

"The core of this case was Pellicano's wiretapping scheme. Pellicano could not have engaged in such widespread and effective wiretapping without the complicity of AT&T. They need to be held accountable for their role in the violation of thousands of people's personal, legal and financial privacy."

Kabateck has filed a class action suit against AT&T for its role in facilitating Pellicano's wiretapping scheme. The case could potentially encompass a class of thousands, making AT&T liable for hundreds of millions of dollars in damages.

He also represents:

* Academy Award-winning actor Keith Carradine ("Deadwood," "Dexter") and
his fiancee in a suit against AT&T, his ex-wife and Pellicano.
* Donna Dubrow against Pellicano and her ex-husband John McTiernan,
director of such blockbusters as "Die Hard," "The Hunt for Red October,"
and "The Thomas Crown Affair."
* Erin Finn against Pellicano and ex-boyfriend Robert Pfeifer, who was
president of Disney-owned Hollywood Records.
