SAE Foundation Surpasses Fund-Raising Campaign Goal; Industry's Generosity Key to Achievement
DETROIT, May 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The SAE Foundation, the charitable arm of SAE International, not only achieved its $25 million goal for its "Inspiring a New Generation" campaign but surpassed it by raising $26.5.
The announcement was made this evening by GM's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rick Wagoner during the SAE Foundation Annual Banquet in Detroit. Wagoner serves as chairman of the SAE Foundation's campaign "Inspiring A New Generation." The SAE Foundation funds both SAE International's A World in Motion (AWIM) K-12 program as well as the SAE Collegiate Design Series. These programs were the recent recipient of a National Science Foundation Public Service Award.
"We are extremely pleased to have reached our fund-raising goal for this campaign," Carson Walburn, director of the SAE Foundation, said. "There were many companies that made this achievement possible, and of course the credit for attaining this goal belongs to them. Their generosity not only helps the students, but ensures that the mobility industry will have a well-trained workforce in the future."
