'Friends for Life(C)' Award Recognizes Hero Dogs and Differences Made Through Bravery, Support and Companionship
Nominations due June 1, Award Presented at "Bark at the Capitol(TM)" on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- WANTED: your hero dog stories! On Wednesday, June 25 dogs and their best friends from all over California will gather at Capitol Park in Sacramento, CA for "Bark at the Capitol(TM)" in celebration of "Dog Day." On that day we will announce "Bark at the Capitol's" winner of the "Friends for Life(C)" award highlighting the amazing friendships shared between dogs and their owners. Nomination essays are currently being accepted and are due to organizers by June 1, 2008. Heroes will be judged on the impact they have made to their owners' lives, be it through bravery, support or companionship. These dogs have given willingly of their unfailing loyalty and spirit in their constant desire to help and are examples of the incredible difference that dogs make in our lives. The "Friends for Life" judging will be lead by "Bark at the Capitol's" technical advisor and renowned dog handler Bill McFadden. A handler with more than 25 years of experience; and the winner of approximately 500 "Best in Shows," including the Westminster Kennel Club and Eukanuba dog shows, McFadden and the other judges will be looking for examples of the strong love and devotion that dogs give their human companions.
