Teamsters Announce Agreement on Concessions With Frontier Airlines

Teamsters Union Leadership Tentatively Agrees to Deal; Will Vote the Membership

DENVER, May 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Teamsters Union leadership on Tuesday announced that it reached a tentative agreement with Frontier Airlines for temporary wage and benefit concessions.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents about 430 employees at Frontier, including mechanics and related personnel, tool room employees, aircraft appearance agents and material specialists.

The concessions will now be put before the union membership for a ratification vote.

"The Teamsters Union and its members are aware of the issues facing Frontier Airlines and the entire airline industry," said Matthew Fazakas, president and principal officer of Teamsters Local 961. "We understand that in these tough economic times, all Frontier employees need to contribute to the company's future success.

"We are recommending that our members vote to approve the temporary reduction plan," Fazakas said. "This needs to be a 'win-win' situation for all. The agreement is being sent to the members for ratification."

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million hardworking men and women in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
