Upon graduation, the National Energy Scholars(R) will continue to transform their communities, one home at a time.
Ms. Susan D. Lower, sponsoring teacher at the River Hill High School said in her opening remarks, "We are so very proud of these exceptional scholars. Our community benefits from the increased energy and environmental awareness among citizens through the efforts of these students, our teachers, and other school groups." Ms. Amy Chiang, Director, International Affairs, Office of Energy Efficiency of the U.S. Department of Energy said in her keynote address, "Increasing energy awareness and encouraging energy stewardship at the personal, family and community levels is the quickest, most economical, and the cleanest way to bring about social change and increased energy productivity.
