Detroit Media Partnership Names New Marketing Vice President
DETROIT, May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Rich Harshbarger was named vice president of consumer marketing at Detroit Media Partnership. He will oversee the consumer marketing efforts and audience development strategies in his new role. Harshbarger was most recently the director of market development for The Desert Sun, in Palm Springs, California and has held similar positions at other newspapers, including Detroit Newspapers between 2002 and 2005. "Detroit has been like a second home to me and it's great to be back. In this new role I look forward to better understanding the needs of those audiences most important to current and potential advertisers, regardless of media platform," Harshbarger said. "We as a city as well as an information leader are in the middle of transformation and I am honored to be part of this renaissance once again."
Harshbarger graduated from Northwestern University with a Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communication in 1994 and also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas in 1992. He will report to Janet Hasson, senior vice president of audience development. "I am thrilled to have Rich back in Detroit to assist with our strategic marketing process," Hasson said.
